Custom Deer Grazing Fabric

I was was very excited to receive the custom-designed "Deer Grazing" fabric sample back from the printers.
The fabric is for a Texan Interior Design Company, who requested a large-scale design for furnishings.  Using the Patternista bespoke-colour matching service, they have ordered 80 metres on a linen/cotton base.

You Foxy Thing You!

Oh, such a foxy tea towel to spruce up your kitchen!

Rather than saving it for those domestic doldrums, why not show off this cunning little number by framing it, hanging on your wall or making it into something luscious to pop your treasures into.

Inspired by Suffolk's resident fox population, this Patternista Tea Towel has been designed using original paper-cuts, doodles and photographs.

To purchase, visit the Patternista Etsy Store.

Fully machine washable, this 100% cotton kitchen textile is one in a series of 4 nature inspired tea towels, made and printed in Britain:-

On Melancholy Hill ...

Today I am missing Coopers Shoot and beautiful Byron Bay....

It's cold and rainy outside and I'm missing the balmy evenings, the sound of cicadas, the gentle bay of cows in the next door fields and whale-watching season...

The grass...

         the grass...

                ... is it always greener?

Paper Cutting - Contemporary Artists, Timeless Craft

I have just purchased a gorgeous book "Paper Cutting - Contemporary Artists, Timeless Craft".  Featuring work from 26 contemporary paper cutting artists,  it showcases artistry of astonishing intricacy, using little more than paper, scalpel or scissors.
Following Natalie Avella's in-depth introduction, illuminating the rich history of this centuries-old art form, beautiful photography depicts works by Elsa Mora (my favourite), Kako Ueda, Emma van Leest, Su Blackwell, Helen Musselwhite, Hina Aoyama, and British favourite: Rob Ryan.

I'm not sure about my current fascination with this intricate artform, but this book really highlights the best from today's contemporary practitioners.
