Purveyor of decorative textiles!
Patternista is the registered business name and trade mark of textile designer, Becky Lim. After being based in the beautiful surf resort of Byron Bay, Australia for 10 years, Becky recently returned to the Suffolk Heritage coastline in England.
Growing up amongst an eccentric family, she attributes a good proportion of her creativity to her mother and Grandmother, a bespoke tailor of "Fine Gentleman's Suiting".
In addition to running her own textile design business, Becky is passionate about her full time job as Print and Textile Teacher at a Suffolk charity for adults with learning difficulties.
"I have been illustrating and creating since I can remember, and put these pursuits into practice after studying textiles in the UK, and Surface Print/Textile Design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. Whilst in Melbourne, I exhibited at the annual textile "Scarf Competition" curated by Craft Victoria and won RMIT's "Bread and Butter" Design Award, judged by Abigail Crompton of Third Drawer Down.
"I also secured treasured placements at Vixen Australia (under Georgia Chapman), in her former silk printing studio, and at Ulster Weavers / Irish Linen (Belfast), working on homeware lines for iconic British store: Harrods.
